1. XRD LAB
X-Ray Diffractometer (XRD), D8 ADVANCE model from M/s Bruker AXS GmbH, Germany. This instrument is fitted with computer controlled continuous variable slits, secondary monochromators (for Cu and Co radiation) and software for clay mineral quantification.

2. SEDIMENTOLOGY/GEOCHEMICAL LAB
Equipped for sedimentological, mineralogical and geochemical studies. The infrastructure includes Milli-Q Academic Water Purification System, Sartorius Electronic Analytical Balance, Ultrasonic Bath, Sieve Shaking Machine, Rotary Shaker, SECOR Laboratory Ball Mill, ELICO Flame Photometer, Double Distillation Unit, Hot Air Oven, Muffle Furnace and Hot Plate.
The equipment/facilities of the Cell are available to all teachers/scientists/ researchers working in Universities/Institutes in the field of Marine Geology and Geophysics in general and in particular for all MoES funded projects. Interested researchers can contact the Research Co-ordinator of the Cell.
